Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, on Tuesday, thanked Congress president Sonia Gandhi and other leaders for taking a "favourable" decision on Telangana (read here).
Addressing a press conference, the Deputy Chief Minister assured the people of Andhra and Rayalaseema settled in Hyderabad that their lives and properties are safe in Telangana.
"We are brothers. We speak the same language, but with a different accent. As a citizen of India, you have every right to live wherever you wish. Therefore, there is no need to fear about anything," he said.
Rajanarasimha said that the Telangana is not a new state. He said that it has always been in existence in the shape of the Hyderabad State. He said that people have always been demanding the restoration of Hyderabad State or Telangana, and that the process for its restoration has now begun.
